Over the years, making tents, we have become specialists in sewing, especially in the making of yurt canvas covers. We have found that there is many a-wood-worker out there making good yurt frames, but few knowing the tricks of the sewing trade, making good quality yurt canvas covers and other custom canvas sewing, hard to come by.
Canvas Proofing
We could write a whole book about what we’ve learned about canvas in tent making: different fabrics available, the advantages and disadvantages of the various fabrics, the history and advancements in canvas proofing and the ongoing care for tent and yurt canvas. In fact we have written such a book which is the only existing yurt canvas sewing course available in the UK, one that takes you through the process of making top notch yurt canvas .
Custom Canvas Sewing Work
Make a frame and we can sew a yurt canvas for it. We work, given specified measurements, without the frame unless it is especially unusual. Our yurt canvas covers are individually designed and can incorporate coloured trims, designs and logos.
We also can sew any canvas designs, the more interesting the better: whether an imaginative structure, a vehicle or boat cover or a bushcraft shelter.

On top of making yurt canvas and other custom canvas sewing work, we also sell top spec canvas, in various finishes and weights and colour, so if you wish to take a hand in your canvas sewing, we may be able to supply you with the canvas.
